Eric Kiel’s photography style has grown from a lifetime of adventures enjoyed in geographic extremes. His fascination with photography began while working as a dive instructor in the Caribbean. After literally getting his feet wet experimenting with underwater photography and film he ventured west on a journey that ended high above sea level with a gig assisting a prominent commercial photographer in Sun Valley, Idaho. But regardless of where he’s landed, he’s always held a deep appreciation for the beauty and quiet dignity of the people and places he’s had the pleasure of capturing through his camera.

His passion for photography and directing has rapidly developed into a successful career centering on Active Lifestyle, Travel and Leisure, Portraiture, Automotive, and Americana. He has brought his keen eye for compelling composition and humanity to a list of commercial clients that include Tabasco, John Deere, New Holland, Pep Boys, XOJets, Dicks Sporting Goods, Reebok, Fox Sports, Pfizer, Marriott, Cargill, Ski-Doo, HP, Asics, Patagonia, Outside, and Garden and Gun.

He believes there are an endless number of stories that can be told in the faces, landscapes, and environments he’s encountered. And he uses his love for surfing on his longboard, good eats, the south, and bourbon as a perfect excuse for constantly “researching” the wonders that can only be found by venturing off the well-beaten paths.

Currently he lives with his crazy-cool wife, three equally crazy kids, and a couple loyal canines, in the mountains of Idaho.
